See What I See Luncheon
CIC “See What I See” Luncheon was held at ZCP today (23/4). Thomas, CIC Chairman, firstly introduce the importance of high-quality development and new quality productive forces. He also encouraged all stakeholders to collaborate and build “Better Houses” in terms of green, low carbon, smart and safety to enhance the quality of construction throughout the entire process as well as sustainable and good quality housing for 7.5 million citizens.
 
Prof K K Ling, Director of the Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, served as a guest speaker to share and explore innovative cross-sector collaboration models on tackling future housing needs based on insights from the findings of “Study on Effective Transitional Housing Delivery in Hong Kong”, and make 5 key policy recommendations including (1) Recognise the function and position of transitional housing, (2) Integrate transitional housing and LPH, (3) Standardise the design of MiC units, (4) Government-led community making in Northern Metropolis and (5) Engage NGOs in community making in LPH development.
 
Rosana of Yau Lee Group is honoured to have taken part in this study. She joined a panel discussion chaired by Albert, CIC Executive Director, from the perspective of a main contractor, to exchange insights with representatives from different entities, for instance, government, developer and NGO on how to formulate a collaboration model and bring happiness to citizens by our knowledge and capability. KK concluded the Q&A session by addressing Hong Kong’s MiC tehcnology is the best in the world and he looks forward to exporting our expertise. It is also a common vision of Rosana and the industry.
 
Lastly, Ms. Winnie Ho, Secretary for Housing, delivered a closing remarks and mentioned that it is very heartwarming when visiting families living in transitional housing which can be treated as a life changing machine. Indeed, the beauty of traditional housing is its self-sustained model. Secretary Ho shared the same view as Rosana about the importance of demountable and thought demountable transitional housing is a “moving castle” which can be reused in any location in Hong Kong, the GBA and even other countries in need around the world.
