Qingdao - Hong Kong Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference
To promote deeper economic and trade cooperation between Qingdao and Hong Kong, major leaders of the CPPCC Qingdao Municipal Committee led a delegation to Hong Kong. The Qingdao - Hong Kong Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference was held this afternoon (25/4). As a Honorary President of the Hong Kong Qingdao Association (HKQA), Rosana of Yau Lee Group, together with our CFO Grani, attended to support the conference.
 
Li Feng, Deputy Director of the Qingdao Bureau of Commerce, kicked off the conference by introducing the speakers and guests. Meng Quingbin, Chairman of the CPPCC Qingdao Municipal Committee, and Patrick Lau,Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC, delivered opening speeches and followed by a presentation done by Li Suman, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Qingdao Municipal Committee, on the investment environment of Qingdao and the key areas of cooperation between with Hong Kong.
 
Since 2018, President Xi announced that the Chinese Government supports the construction of the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area (SCODA) in Qingdao. This brings an unprecedented opportunity to Qingdao meanwhile leverages Qingdao’s role in the construction of the economic corridor of the New Eurasian Land Bridge and maritime cooperation under the framework of “Belt and Road”. As of 2023, the Power City Index of Qingdao ranks among the top cities in China. It currently focuses on “Solid Industrial Foundation” and “Rise of Emerging Industries”. Qingdao is also significantly increasing its openness to attract more collaborations.
 
Rosana thanks Peter, HKQA Permanent Honorary President and Chairman, for his invitation and looks forward to having more collaborations with various key industries on different platforms in Qingdao and showing support to the vision of “Invest in Qingdao, Share the Future”.
