Building Hong Kong Together|Commencement Ceremony of Road Improvement Works for Yue Kwong Chuen Redevelopment and Grand Opening of GeoBIM Lab at KSYSS
To support the redevelopment of Yue Kwong Chuen carried out by the Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS), Yau Lee Construction Company Limited will start the road improvement works near the Aberdeen Reservoir Road. Chairman IK Wong, Rosana, Patrick and the project team joined the commencement ceremony with Gordon of the HKHS this morning (15/11).
Due to the heavy traffic of the site area, the project team has made thorough plans to avoid causing inconvenience to the community. Before the improvement works began, they focused on improving efficiency, safety, and quality. Once completed, it is expected to alleviate traffic congestion, enhance recreational facilities, and optimize the community environment.
In the afternoon, Rosana attended the grand opening of the GeoBIM Lab at Kowloon Sam Yuk Secondary School (KSYSS) as a Guest of Honour to celebrate with Pastor Heywood, Principal Shirley, other guests, teachers, parents and students. Rosana believes that young people are an important driving force in the construction industry. In February, Rosana took the lead in organizing the “Luminary Project” which aims at giving students a deeper understanding of the construction industry, in particular smart construction and construction technology. Therefore, the establishment of the GeoBIM Lab will definitely complement the "“Luminary Project ", serving as an important resource for cultivating students' diverse development and exploring their potential.
Yau Lee Group has been dedicated to talent cultivation. Its subsidiary, GVDC is currently collaborating with KSYSS to provide tailor-made BIM courses for junior secondary school students which enable them to have basic knowledge of BIM with practical experiences. Additionally, Prosit Philosophiae Foundation, established by Rosana, has set up the Luminary Scholarship to support students as well as to promote collaboration between industry, academia, and research.
At the opening ceremony, Rosana presented certificates to 21 outstanding students who recently completed the GVDC BIM course. They also received the Construction Industry Council (CIC) BIM Viewer certificate and the Hong Kong Institute of Building Information Modeling (HKIBIM) Junior Member certificate. Rosana was glad that they could achieve "three goals with one effort," making the most of their achievements.
In conclusion, Rosana encouraged students to seize the golden opportunity in the construction industry, develop their careers, and work together to build the future of Hong Kong.
