The OASA SpaceBiz Dialogues took place at PolyU this evening (25/4). Rosana of Yau Lee Group was invited to join the panel discussion, which included keynote speakers Ir Allen Yeung and Philip Yuen, along with other panelists, to share her insights on “How Might We Build and Sustain a Zero-Carbon Building.”
Buildings account for about 90% of Hong Kong's total electricity consumption, and over 60% of our carbon emissions are attributable to generating electricity for these buildings. Therefore, Rosana shared the Group’s vision of becoming a green integrated corporation through various technologies from the perspectives of both a developer and a contractor. Additionally, her foundation has supported two labs at HKU and RCA, focusing on future city development at a macro level.
Rosana further mentioned that NASA has recently launched the $3 million LunaRecycle Challenge—a competition seeking innovative solutions to recycle solid waste on the moon. This initiative aims to reduce trash, conserve resources, and inspire sustainable technologies both in space and on Earth. She encouraged all young global leaders at OASA to do more and better to protect our community, not only in Hong Kong but also globally, and even in space.
