HKU 214th Congregation
HKU 214th Congregation - Faculty of Social Sciences was held today (18/7). Before the conferment of degrees, Prof. Ming Wen, Dean, and Prof. The Hon Matthew Cheung, also an alumnus of the faculty, delivered speeches encouraging the graduates to embrace both the best and the most challenging aspects of Hong Kong’s current economic situation.
Rosana of Yau Lee Group attended this morning to receive the conferment of a Doctorate with superb result focusing on a comprehensive investigation into the integration of dynamic spatial data within a sustainable smart city. Her thesis explored the use of smart technologies such as AI, LLM and sustainable practices in urban development through case studies in Hong Kong.
Rosana would like to express her deep and heartfelt gratitude to her research supervisor, Professor Becky Loo, for her invaluable guidance and support throughout this six-year part-time PhD study.
In implementing the outcomes of her research, Rosana has already established a startup to advance the vision of smart urbanism by integrating dynamic spatial data and to foster collaboration to ultimately create smart and sustainable ecology worldwide.
