Yau Lee Construction has recently completed the Light Public Housing (LPH) at Choi Yuen Road and Shun On Road. Today (24/11), Conrad and Rosana of Yau Lee Group, along with Secretary Winnie Ho, Under Secretary Victor, and the project team, welcomed the tenants on this remarkable occasion.

 

Both LPH at Choi Yuen Road and Shun On Road were converted from vacant schools to provide 110 units and 127 units respectively. Due to the need for significant alterations to convert the buildings into LPH units, we faced challenges imposed by the structure and original layouts of the old schools, especially since the school on Shun On Road had been in existence for over forty years. The nature of the LPH is to provide suitable accommodation for those in urgent need of housing in a short timeframe. We discussed various design proposals aimed at speeding up the process while improving quality, including the adoption of integrated bathrooms and retaining some original window designs. This allowed both conversion projects be completed on schedule and handed over to operators for tenant move-in arrangements.

 

Rosana is glad to see the tenants moving in with smiling faces, excited to start a new chapter in their lives. The successful completion of these projects not only provides homes but also fosters a sense of community and belonging for the residents. We look forward to seeing how these families thrive in their new environment.
