Located in Tung Chung Area 99, the very first public housing project built with MiC method under the Housing Authority has already commenced. There are 5 domestics blocks offering 4800 units in total and one of the blocks with 12 storeys (240 units) will be constructed in MiC.

 

As the main contractor of this project, Ms. Rosana Wong, Executive Director of Yau Lee Group, has visited the site to monitor the lifting of 1st MiC box this morning and it will become part of the mockup unit. Rosana expresses gratitude to the HA for their support and trust. She expects this precedent would allow innovative technologies such as MiC to be extended to a variety of residential categories for the construction productivity, safety and buildability, with a view to quickening HK’s housing supply. In addition, we will continue to drive the adoption of smart construction solutions including MiC, blockchain multifunctional platform – BEANiE 5.0, 5G robots and so on to give a further boost to the development of smart city.

 

Meanwhile, REC Green Technologies Company Limited, a subsidiary of Yau Lee Group, has implemented Energy Storage System at the site to reduce the amount of diesel used by minimizing the operating hour of diesel/biodiesel generators, and ultimately to achieve carbon reduction and cost saving. This not only actualizes the Group’s ESG Policy but also supports the carbon neutrality by 2050 initiated by the Hong Kong Government.
