Zonta Club of Kowloon Fundraising Gala Premiere was successfully held in Festival Grand Cinema today. Ms. Rosana Wong, Executive Director of Yau Lee Holdings Limited, has been appointed as the Chair of 2022-2024 Fundraising Committee to lead the committee in preparing this event.

 

Zonta Club of Kowloon, established in 1977, aims to improve the legal, economic, educational, health and professional stats of women through service and advocacy and nurture young women leaders. This year marks the 45th anniversary of Zonta Club of Kowloon and the Fundraising Committee chose “Fireheart” for the Gala to promote the belief of “every dream starts with a spark” to ignite our next generation to have confidence in a brighter future.

 

Over 360 guests joined the Gala including our VIPs Ms. Winnie Ho, Secretary for Housing, Ms. Alice Mak, Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, and Ms. Miriam Lau, Former Legislative Council Member. The fund raised through this Gala will go to the Zonta Club of Kowloon Charitable Trust to finance the various social service projects to benefit women in distress, the elderly and underprivileged, the handicapped and victims of abuse.

 

Since the last visit at Ying Wa Street Social Housing “Tenacity Residence”, Ms. Wong was deeply touched by the residence and decided to invite 27 kids from Tenacity Residence to join the Gala in order to broaden their horizon and encourage them to purse their dreams.

 

Lastly, Ms. Wong would like to thank everyone for their support and donation. She will be promoting women's active participation in social affairs through Zonta Club of Kowloon to help themselves explore and utilize their own inner ability so as to live a beautiful life.
