【Transitional Housing: Challenges and Achievements of Hong Kong with reference to International Cases】
Rosana, Executive Director of Yau Lee Group, attended a HKIP seminar on transitional housing delivered by Prof K K Ling this evening. During the seminar, the interim findings of the on-going “Study on Effective Transitional Housing Delivery in Hong Kong” led by KK were presented to review the transitional housing projects in Hong Kong as well as experiences from cities including Vancouver, London, Taipei, Amsterdam, Queensland and Auckland.

The Study is funded by the Strategic Public Policy Research funding scheme of the Hong Kong SAR Government. Rosana is also one of the core members of the Study and was invited to join the Q&A session. KK mentioned about the comparison of the locations of existing transitional housing. He encouraged the residents should look to the future and seize the opportunity to move into the Northern Metropolis as early movers, taking the advantages from “transience” to “permanent” as well as “underprivileged” to “privileged”. KK was also asked the lesson learnt from transitional housing. He said that "collaboration" is the most important key to success. Everyone agreed and believed that all stakeholders put giving back to the community as the first priority and contribute unconditionally to development and research, which will surely relieve Hong Kong's housing needs and provide quality housing for the community.
