【Hong Kong-Korea Business Roundtable & Keynote Luncheon】
The 19th Hong Kong-Korea Business Roundtable and Keynote Luncheon, jointly organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), was held at the HKCEC again after 3 years of the pandemic. Mr. Paul Chan, Financial Secretary, was invited as the honourable guest of the Keynote Luncheon and Rosana, Executive Director of Yau Lee Group, was also invited to be a guest speaker of the Roundtable.
 
Mr. Bob Chong, Hong Kong Chair, and Mr. Choi Myung-Bae, Korea Chair have firstly delivered opening remarks and followed by remarks by Ms. Margaret Fong, Executive Director of HKTDC, and Mr. Christopher Koo, Chairman of KITA. During the session of “Exploring Collaborations between Hong Kong and Korea”, Rosana has shared smart green hotel 2.0, MaaS Autonomous Solutions, Electric Vehicle with on-demand hydrogen fuel cell, corporation digitalization and digital assets, etc.
 
During the Keynote Luncheon, Secretary Chan has shared Hong Kong’s long-, medium- and short-term post pandemic revitalization strategies in particular the "eight centres" positioning, including the international financial centre, international innovation and technology centre, East-meets-West centre for international cultural exchange, international trade centre, international shipping centre, international aviation hub, centre for international legal and dispute resolution services in the Asia‑Pacific region as well as regional intellectual property trading centre, and illustrated by some real cases that Hong Kong still plays an important role as a super-connector between China and overseas. The government also supports enterprises from South Korea and other countries to invest in Hong Kong, and provides the most appropriate support to enable investment enterprises to unleash their strengths in Hong Kong, especially in environmental protection, low-carbon technology and sustainable development, to speed up the connection between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Great Bay Are, which has a GDP close to US$2 trillion, as well as the carbon neutrality goals of different countries. Secretary Chan also encourages young people from South Korea and other countries to come to Hong Kong through the “Top Talent Pass Scheme” to develop and expand the local talent pool. In conclusion, Secretary Chen described Hong Kong as a "wonderful city" with everything from delicious food, beautiful scenery, shopping and leisure to world-class museums. It is definitely the first choice for international investors and young professionals.
 
Rosana, who has always been striving to deepen cross-regional innovation and technology cooperation, said that she will actively support with the government's policies and development strategies and looks forward to further exchanges and collaboration with enterprises and experts in South Korea and other countries, in particular the areas of I&T, smart energy and low carbon, so as to achieve a sustainable and positive result.
