The Building Services Division of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) organised the first Excellent Building Award this year to recognise the outstanding contribution of the related sectors and encourage the industry to continue to promote digitalisation, innovative technology, sustainability and energy saving in the design concept of building services (BS).

 

The award presentation ceremony was held today with the presence of Ms. Winnie Ho, Secretary for Housing, as the Guest of Honour to deliver the opening speech. Yau Lee Group is honoured to participate in Pak Shing Kok Disciplined Services Quarters, one of the Grand Award (New Buildings) winners, and would like to thank ArchSD, including but not limited to Ir Chan Pak-cheung, Assistant Director (Building Services), Mr. Edward Wong, Project Director, and Mr. Lawrence Kwan, Chief Project Manager, for their invitation of receiving the award on stage. This is the first MiC project in Hong Kong as well as the first residential building achieving Platinum rating of BEAM Plus New Buildings version 2.0. Besides, a wide variety of innovative design elements such as BIM, BEANiE blockchain multifunctional platform, MiMEP, Mechanical Vehicle Parking System, lift power regeneration, etc. were adopted.

 

Rosana believes that BS is the lifeblood of buildings which is very important in design, maintenance and operation. REC Engineering Co Ltd, REC Green Technologies Co Ltd and REC Green Energy Solutions Co Ltd, all under Yau Lee Group, will work closely together to strengthen the innovative applications of BS in both new and existing buildings in order to achieve better performance in terms of energy efficiency, safety, resident comfort while reducing carbon emission, and ultimately bring more excellent sustainable buildings to Hong Kong.
