After the visit at Yau Lee Wah Precast and MiC factory, Mr. Sunny Choi, Chair of the Hong Kong Institution of Surveyors (HKIS) QS Division again led over 30 members to visit the construction site of the Subsidised Sales Housing at Hung Shui Kiu Phase 1A this morning. Franki, Director of Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) and his team including Franco, Assistant Director, Gordon, General Manager, and Alex, Project Manager, explained the project details and status to the members. Rosana of Yau Lee also came to support and was invited to introduce BEANiE and the smart site.

 

During the visit, HKIS members could finally see the completed units on site and were impressed by the MiC quality especially the one combining living room and a balcony to tackle the logistic issues. This highlighted the importance of high standard of production and supply chain management. Some members were even amazed at how the wall tiles at the corridor are good as a private project. Their appreciation has encouraged the project team a lot and Yau Lee Group is very thankful for the leadership and the trust of the HKHS.

 

After the visit, representatives of the HKHS and Rosana discussed with HKIS members on how to improve and strengthen the application of MiC. All of them look forward to the wide adoption of this innovative construction method in more projects in the near future.
