【Buildings Dept and Architectural Services Dept visited Subsidised Sales Housing at Hung Shui Kiu Phase 1A and O-Link Robotics Centre】
Yau Lee Group received visits from the Buildings Department (BD) and the Architectural Services Department (ArchSD) at Subsidised Sales Housing at Hung Shui Kiu Phase 1A and O-Link Robotics Centre of REC Engineering Company Limited (REC), a subsidiary of the Group, today.
In the morning session, a team of nearly 30 representatives from the BD arrived at the site and at the same time, the most innovative and heaviest MiC module of the project was being hoisted and installed. This MiC module consisting the living room and a balcony was designed by the Group to tackle logistic issues. In addition to the presentation of project details and status by Franco, Gordon and Alex from the Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) and BEANiE cum smart site by Rosana of Yau Lee Group, all of them had an in-depth technical discussion on how to optimize the design of MiC for wide adoption.
In the afternoon session, Edward, Director of the ArchSD, and Michael, Deputy Director of ArchSD, led more than 20 members and representatives from the DevB to visit the site. Franki of HKHS and his team shared their overall planning in Hung Shui Kiu and project details as usual. Since ArchSD has adopted BEANiE in other projects constructed by the Group, for example, Hong Kong’s first MiC school located in Tai Po Area 9, Rosana gave an in-depth introduction of BEANiE in particular the customized dashboard which can be designed in accordance with the project requirements to enable real-time monitoring for the project team.
ArchSD also visited the O-Link Robotics Centre. Under the leadership of the Group and Antonio, Deputy Managing Director of REC, O-Link has developed a one-stop collaborativen robot to support MiMEP. Gas welding and flame cutting can be replaced by this robot with high accuracy and productivity. For example, Welding Robot and Drillbot for plasma cutting are used in the Community health centre cum social welfare facilities at Pak Wo Road, to enhance the productivity by 437% and 189% respectively. Lastly, before leaving the O-Link Robotics Centre, the ArchSD has raised a “wish list “of asking how to use innovative robotic technology to improve productivity, safety and quality in the coming maintenance works for over 8000 buildings. It inspired and encouraged the creative spark of the team and everyone at Yau Lee Group will definitely apply more robots and other construction technologies to support high productivity construction promoted by the government.
