CBC2023: IoT, Blockchain and Smart Environments
The Construction Blockchain Conference 2023, co-hosted by the HKUST and UCL, is first in Hong Kong to offer a platform for top experts in blockchain to share research findings and practical experiences in the built environment as well as to explore the latest advancements in IoT and Smart Environments.

Rosana of Yau Lee Group was invited as a Keynote Speaker in the opening session, after the introductory session by Dr Abel Maciel and Opening Remarks by Dr Jack Cheng, to share about “Revolutionising MiC Lifecycle using AI BIM-enabled Blockchain and IoT Technologies”. Rosana demonstrated the importance of blockchain in built environments by illustrating different examples including the use of BEANiE for full lifecycle management of MiC projects. BEANiE was developed in 2018 and implemented in 2019. The latest version BEANiE 6.0 will soon launch as a City Information Modeling (CIM) to collect MiC and other data which improve with an ultimate aim to fully incorporate stakeholders and enable smart decision-making working towards the implementation of smart city, smart construction, smart building and smart mobility.

Besides the 3-day hybrid conference, all conference speakers and delegates were warmly invited to attend the welcome dinner on Nov 6 and the conference banquet on Nov 7.
