The Ode to Joy Charity Concert 2023, co-organized by the Society for Community Organization (SoCO) and the Lions Club of Hong Kong Citizens, was held this evening at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Rosana of Yau Lee Group has joined for two consecutive years to support SoCO in helping needy families to tide over difficulties through charity concert.

 

Rosana enjoyed a very warm and touching evening with all the guests. In addition to the professional performance by the Gustav Mahler Orchestra, there were other performances done by the Chinese orchestra, choir and dance group formed by more than 70 grassroots children and youth from the SoCO as well as solo performance to deliver a message of love and strength.

 

Grassroots children and youth are always lack of chances and resources to realise their potential and talents due to their family background, and it is even more difficult for them to cultivate and develop their own interests. Rosana would like to thank the project team again, especially Lam who received the HKIA Young Architect Award 2023, for their hard work and unconditional contribution to build the award-winning (a total of 6 awards from Green Building Award 2023 and HKIA Annual Awards 2022/23) transitional housing project at Ying Wa Street “Tenacity Residence” for SoCO and the needy to have an adequate housing to explore and cultivate their own interests. Rosana hopes that they can achieve self-actualization as well as gain more sense of accomplishment, and ultimately ignite their confidence to create a bright future. This actually can unleash the truth of art and music – make people happy, inspired and empowered.
