The newly designed and reconstructed Lai Wan Market, done by Yau Lee Construction, has resumed its operation for 1 month and the grand opening ceremony was held this morning (1/3) with officiating guests including Mr. Tse Chin-wan (Secy for Env & Ecology), Ms. Vivian Lau (Permanent Secy for Env & Ecology (Food)), Ms. Irene Young (Dir of Food & Env Hygiene), Mr. Michael Li (Dir of Architectural Services), Mr. Paul Wong (Dist Offr (Sham Shui Po)), Hon Vincent Cheng, Hon Rebecca Chan, Hon Kitson Yeung and Hon Scott Leung.
Lai Wan Market is Hong Kong’s first market under the flyover adopted MiC and the project was completed in just 10 months. MiC modules were designed according to the specific needs of different types of stalls which could enhance operational efficiency and space utilisation. Rosana of Yau Lee Group is delighted to receive the recognitions from the tenants and neighbour and hopes that the Group can participate in different reconstruction and renovation projects under the Market Modernization Programme to provide a better living facilities and enhance citizens’ happiness.
