The seminar of Harnessing PropTech, ESG, and FinTech for a Greener Future, jointly organized by the Cyberport, Hong Kong PropTech Association, the Institution of ESG & Benchmark and the Institute of Financial Technologists of Asia, was held at Cyberport this afternoon. The seminar is one of the activities of the Hong Kong Green Week initiated by the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau with an objective with aims to showcase the immense potential of ESG data and FinTech solutions, in order to promote talent cultivation for Hong Kong's booming FinTech and PropTech sectors and accelerate sustainable development in Hong Kong in the long run.
The seminar kicked start with the opening speech by Eric of the Cyberport and followed by speeches delivered by the representatives of the co-organisers including Darron of Hong Kong PropTech Association, Raymond of the Institute of Financial Technologists of Asia and Paul of the Institution of ESG & Benchmark.
Rosana of Yau Lee Group was invited to participate in a panel discussion moderated by Paul, Vice Chairman of Green Committee, Smart City Consortium, and discussed with a group of speakers how fintech and PropTech can work together to promote the development of green real estate. Rosana believes that energy consumption in buildings accounts for more than 60% of Hong Kong’s carbon emissions. Therefore, Yau Lee Group, as a developer, main contractor, manufacturer and operator, must urgently use AI and blockchain to achieve sustainable development. The Group will also collaborate with bankers and professional bodies to develop a ESG management platform to further contribute to a green future.
