REC and GVDC, two subsidiaries of Yau Lee Group, and M.One, a startup under Ophylla Ventures (OV) were privileged to take part in EMSD’s MiMEP pilot project. In this project, MiMEP, together with BIM and other digital technologies, were firstly adopted to replace four chillers which had been in service for more than 20 years in Tai Lung Veterinary Laboratory (TLVL). All details are being displayed through a holographic system to provide an interactive experience for the citizens.
To tackle the challenging issues including the narrow and limited space in the laboratory as well as the need to reduce the impact of the project on the daily operation, GVDC created a BIM model for the surrounding environment of the site and adopt BIM to simulate the dynamic process of transportation, lifting and module assembly to enhance the transparency and accuracy of the design. After that, REC applied MiMEP for the replacement in just 38 days, about half of the 90 days required by the conventional method. Lastly, M.One offered EMSD an innovative 3D holographic system to clearly present the project highlights.
Rosana, Executive Director of Yau Lee Group cum Founder & President of OV, mentioned that this project could fully demonstrate the Group’s “One Team” spirit and also our determination to collaborate with different startups which bring diversified innovative technologies into the construction industry and ultimately promote its sustainability and the smart city development.
