In order to promote practical uses of BIM through collaborative and competitive learning approach among higher education students in construction-related disciplines, CIC has hosted an annual BIM Competition since 2019. The theme of this year’s competition is “CIC Innovation Academy” at the ZCP assuming the existing building would be converted or demolished for a purpose-built building dedicated to educational and learning activities for higher education students. All participants are also required to review the connectivity to Megabox.
As a member of CIC’s Committee on BIM and Construction Digitalisation, Rosana of Yau Lee served as a judge for the competition. She is very impressed by all participants and their standard is higher than before. All of them made all-out effort to give their best attempt in BIM applications and their works were worthy of all the toil and sweat, making the judges struggling in deciding the winner.
After the assessment meeting among seven judges, “Polyers” has beaten 41 teams to become a champion with a proposal combing functionality and aesthetics. “B Impressive” and HKMU are the 1st runner-up meanwhile “BIM BIM有力” and “Huenoflora” are the 2nd runner-up.
Rosana encourages the winning teams to uphold the outstanding performance and hopes that all students would join the industry in the future making a contribution to the professions.
