Ms. Winnie Ho, Secretary for Housing, and Mr. Victor Tai, Under Secretary for Housing, visit the construction site of the Public Housing Development at Tung Chung Area 99 to support and provide guidance. The project consists 5 domestics blocks offering 4,800 units in total and one of the blocks with 12 storeys (240 units) are being constructed in MiC.

 

Secretary Winne and Under Secretary Victor first learned about the progress of the entire project. Rosana of Yau Lee Group then led the project team to demonstration the lifting of the first MiC module which is fully monitored by the Smart Site Safety System (4S) on a real time basis. Together with the Safety Rangers, a safety robot specially designed for monitoring of MiC lifting, the safety of the surrounding area will be greatly enhanced because when there is any unsafe acts / dangerous situation in the tower crane lifting zone and mobile plant operation danger zone, an alarm will be triggered. Same as other MiC projects of the Group, BEANiE, Hong Kong’s first blockchain multifunctional platform, is used to monitor the full lifecycle of every MiC module.

 

TC99 is also full of “Safety Family” that reminds the importance of construction safety. It is the enhanced version of the first generation of the Safety Family. Applying the concept of jigsaw puzzle, seven safety characters were created to help strengthen the objectives of 4S implementation. In addition, a series of artistic construction photos taken by our safety officer is displayed at TC99 entrance which is just like an art gallery to provide a refreshing image of the construction industry and attract more young people to join us.

 

Finally, Secretary Winnie encouraged the project team to redouble the efforts to speed up the provision of high-quality living environment for citizens in need.
