Qatar Government Delegation Visits the Public Housing Project in Fanling North Phase 1
The Secretary for Housing, Ms. Winnie Ho, invited a delegation from the Qatar government to visit the construction site of Fanling North Phase 1 public housing yesterday (22/1). The visit was led by Assistant Director of HKHA, Sherman, and Chief Structural Engineer, Rayson, with Conrad and Rosana of Yau Lee Group to meet with the delegation for in-depth discussion.

This project includes three residential towers, ranging from 32 to 40 stories high, providing a total of 3,120 units. One of the 40-story towers is built using Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) with a five-day construction cycle, consisting of 26 units per floor made up of 75 MiC modules.
First, the HKHA project team briefed the delegation on the project's background, the application of MiC, and construction sequence. Then, Yau Lee construction team shared our experience in implementing the Smart Site Safety System (4S) and successfully obtaining the 4S label. Rosana also led the team in demonstrating the project dashboard and the BEANiE multifunctional blockchain platform for managing the entire lifecycle of MiC. Finally, MiC lifting process was also demonstrated. The lifting process is fully monitored by the Smart Site Safety System (4S) on a real time basis. Together with the Safety Rangers, a safety robot specially designed for monitoring of MiC lifting, the safety of the surrounding area will be greatly enhanced because when there is any unsafe acts / dangerous situation in the tower crane lifting zone and mobile plant operation danger zone, an alarm will be triggered.

Rosana expressed her gratitude to Secretary Winnie for the arrangements and warmly welcomed the Qatar government delegation. She hopes to take this opportunity to promote Hong Kong's MiC technology globally, allowing the world to recognize Hong Kong's construction technology and applications. Rosana looks forward to further exchanges with the Qatar government and hopes for more delegations from other countries to visit in the future.
