SCC 10th Anniversary and LAEA 1st Anniversary Cocktail
The 10th anniversary celebration of the Smart City Consortium (SCC) and the 1st anniversary of the Low Altitude Economy Alliance (LAEA) was grandly held today (8/9). As a Vice President of SCC, Rosana of Yau Lee Group celebrated this milestone together with the Guest of Honour, Financial Secretary Paul Chan, Secretary Winnie, Secretary Mable, former LegCo member Tam Yiu Chung, SCC Founders EQ and Winnie, Honourary President Eric, current President Gary and over 800 guests.

The ceremony kicked off by an opening speech by EQ. Over the past 10 years since its establishment, SCC has been dedicated to promoting the development of smart city in Hong Kong, for instance, submitted 3 smart city blueprints to the government, signed 57 MoUs with 18 countries/cities, established the Smart City Academy and Geospatial Laboratory, etc, all aimed at comprehensively implementing the vision of smart city across various sectors.

FS Paul Chan was then invited to deliver a speech, describing SCC and LAEA are the close partners of the Government in the past years. He encouraged both consortiums to further contribute to the development of smart city in three areas: (1) the research and application of innovative technologies, (2) promoting a full-chain collaboration among government, industry, academia, research, and investment, and (3) enhancing talent training and international exchanges. He also mentioned that the government will moderately expand data openness to support data sharing, application, and interoperability, aligning with the smart city development strategy.
Lastly, Gary expressed gratitude to the government, particularly the DevB, the HB, ITIB, and the TLB, for their support. He also thanked the members of the advisory group, council members, and all members for their contributions. He committed that SCC would strive to fulfill the three KPIs mentioned by the FS.

Rosana, who has been involved in smart city development for nearly a decade, pledged to support the development of spatial data, as she firmly believes that spatial data is a vital foundation for the development of smart cities and the low-altitude economy. She quoted a Cantonese proverb, "打風都打唔甩" (literally meaning "even in a storm, it won't fall off"), to illustrate her persistence and intention to provide the next generation with smarter, more sustainable living and better choices.
