Guangzhou Exploration & Design Association Delegation Visited Hong Kong
The Guangzhou Exploration & Design Association hosted a delegation visit to Hong Kong on 17/3. Led by President胡世強先生, the delegation of 13 experts from well-known Guangzhou design institutes, construction industrialization research organizations, and digital design firms visited the construction site of public housing development at Shek Li Street, which is being built by Yau Lee Construction, to meet with Ellen, Chief Architect (1) of the Housing Department, on MiC 1.0 public housing project. Rosana of Yau Lee Group and her team also attended to support the visit.

The Shek Lei Street public housing development comprises two ultra-high-rise MiC buildings (49 storeys), the first of its kind in Hong Kong, to provide 1,800 flats using a total of 4,860 MiC modules. A Six-day construction cycle is adopted. Given the site’s proximity to the existing residential buildings and only a single haul road for MiC delivery, just-in-time production is particularly critical. Therefore, we demonstrated how BEANiE multifunctional blockchain platform monitors the full lifecycle of the MiC modules to achieve lean construction.

The delegation and the project team also held in-depth discussions on key aspects of MiC technology, including standardized design, structural safety, transportation and installation, and end-to-end BIM applications.
