Yau Lee Group is always committed to improving the living environment and driving the sustainable development via the adoption of innovative technologies in Hong Kong. Accordingly, we have been participating in various Transitional Housing Projects, namely “Tenacity Residence”, "1 Cheong San", etc.. Last month, the Ground-breaking Ceremony of another Transitional Housing Project at Po Lam Road North, TKO has also been held. Most significant of all, this project has been awarded with “CIC Sustainable Finance Certificate Scheme – Green Loan” and hence the Bank of East Asia has provided us with their Green Revolving Loan. This further proves the recognition of our commitment in driving sustainable development and encourages the Group to serve more people and communities in the future.

 

Ms. Winnie Ho, Secretary for Housing, attended the Ceremony together with a number of guests and Ms. Rosana Wong, Executive Director of Yau Lee Group, has received a Certificate of Appreciation on stage. Ms. Ho pointed out that the transitional housing can provide more residence for those in need. She described it as "more meaningful than a job". In the meantime, Ms. Wong said that Yau Lee will keep on adhering to Corporate Social Responsibility via various channels including the adoption of innovative technologies such as demountable concrete MiC to fasten the completion of transitional housing for the benefit of our people in need. Based on our past experience, construction and manpower could be reduced by 40% and 60% respectively. This project will be completed in mid-2023 to provide a total number of 385 units for 1 to 4 persons and a barrier-free unit which can accommodate around 870 grassroots.

 

During the Ceremony, a video capturing the expectations of those living in unsuitable housing on their future homes has been shown. A senior citizen expressed his wish of having a window at home which can be finally fulfilled when he moves into this transitional housing at Po Lam Road North Simply because we have taken ventilation, cooking requirement as well as natural light into account when planning the interior design. This project will also make good use of the open space to offer a small park, activity room, laundry room, bicycle parking spaces, etc. and the residents' quality of life will surely be improved.
