Ms. Rosana Wong, Executive Director of Yau Lee Group, was invited by JCDISI of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University to join the “25 Years of Design” Exhibition and speak at “Dialogue Speakers Series Mastertalks”.

 

The Exhibition, an official event celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the HKSAR Establishment, aims to share with the public about Hong King’s progressive design journey from past, present and in the future across the Greater Bay Area.

 

During the mastertalks, Ms. Wong shared the challenges of building transitional housing in Hong Kong from the perspective of contractor. The transitional housing constructed by Yau Lee Group were built with demountable concrete MiC which provides a more comfortable living environment like permanent housing compared with steel MiC. Ms. Wong believes that the budget for building transitional housing is very tight but the philosophy behinds is extremely meaningful and the demountable MiC technology can even be transferred to developing countries to benefit more people.

 

Lastly, Ms. Wong thanked the government for introducing transitional housing and invite everyone to support the research carried out by JCDISI to jointly enhance the housing policy in Hong Kong.
