The "buildingSMART International Standards Summit Forum" held in Rome, Italy came to the second day. Ada, the Chairperson of the HKABAEIMA, and Rosana, the Executive Director of Yau Lee Group, together with other delegates continued to participate in the incredible agenda on Tuesday.

 

Highlights of the 2nd day included the Masterclass delivered by Menno Mekes, BIM specialist at Arons en Gelauff architecten, and the session delivered by Nick Nisbet, Vice-chair of buildingSMART UK & Ireland. Menno shared the importance of Information Delivery Specification (IdS) which is the most widely adopted standard to assistant BIM Modeler in controlling different information and building models quickly and accurately. Meanwhile, Nick shared how the Regulatory Room supports and works with its major initiatives and its ambitions in working towards automated code and requirements compliance.

 

The delegation also met with Clive Billiald, the CEO of buildingSMART International, to share the latest situation and vision of the application of openBIM in Hong Kong, and is keen to bring the Summit to Hong Kong in the future. It will gather openBIM experts from all over the world to visit Hong Kong which definitely help promote construction digitalization and the development of open data sharing in Hong Kong.

 

Last but not least, Rosana joined the “Regulatory Room Dinner” together with the delegates on Tuesday night and it’s really meaningful to know how we will learn and grow together under BuildingSmart communities.
