Ir Thomas Ho, Chairman of the CIC, led a delegation formed by government representatives from DevB and Buildings Department, contractors and industry leaders to visit Guangzhou for its high quality development from Tuesday to Thursday (3 days) this week. Rosana and Simon, Executive Directors of Yau Lee Group, also joined this delegation.

 

Thomas was glad that the delegation accomplished the goal of understanding the latest progress of Guangzhou Municipal Group in talent training, innovative digital technology, advanced construction methods, construction safety and MiC applications. The 3-day itinerary was intensive and the delegation visited numerous innovation and technology production bases and engineering projects under the Guangzhou Municipal Group, for instance, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao GBA High-end Equipment Innovation Center, Guangzhou International Health Station and the world's/China's largest Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, etc., thoroughly displaying its diversified solutions in MiC and BIM which bring positive impact on environment and safety. The delegates also had in-depth exchanges with the Guangzhou Design Institute Group and other units through discussions.

 

Rosana thanked Thomas and CIC for the arrangement and was delighted to interact with Guangzhou Municipal Group, Guangzhou Design Institute, etc., which inspired her and the delegates much. The Group will actively explore collaboration opportunities. She also hopes that the Hong Kong construction industry can further strengthen the close collaboration between Hong Kong, Guangzhou and the Greater Bay Area. Through the advantages of the one-hour living circle and the newly expanded talent list of the government, it can effectively replenish the industry with professionals in different positions, accelerate digital transformation, and support the high-quality development of Hong Kong's construction industry.
