The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) Annual Conference 2023 was held today. Theme “Exploring Infinity with Our Expertise for an Age-friendly Future”, the Conference will deliberate on the current situation in Hong Kong and discuss how the construction and real estate sector could contribute to creating an inclusive future and enabling Hong Kong to evolve into a more innovative and all-round city and enhancing the quality of life at all ages.
During the opening ceremony, Paul, President of HKIS, delivered a welcome speech followed by an opening keynote speech by Mr. Michael Wong, Deputy FS, as the Guest of Honour. Three sessions of presentations and discussion panels with different topics started right after the opening ceremony. After the first session on “Innovation & Technology Applications Employed in Serving the Elderly”, Secretary Winnie Ho of Housing Bureau was specially invited to share about the planning of the Transitional Housing and the Light Public Housing.
Rosana of Yau Lee Group was invited to serve as a speaker in the second session namely “Construction and Development for a Liveable City for All Ages” to share the smart initiatives for a liveable city as well as the importance of intergenerational living. Rosana believes that intergenerational living encompasses a process of planning, zoning, design, building and community. By setting up a new business model consisting of common good and social good as a new vision, Rosana hopes to incorporate different indicators to improve intergenerational living for all ages through innovation and collaboration which will drive us to flourish and cultivate our homeland for our generations and many more to come.
