The Study Tour in Hong Kong and Macau led by Mr. Li Jinguo, Deputy Secretary of the Qingdao Municipal Committee of the CPC, visited HKSTP this afternoon under the arrangement of the Hong Kong Qingdao Association (HKQA) with the presence of Rosana of Yau Lee Group as a Honorary President and also Peter, the President.
The study group firstly visited the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) to learn about Hong Kong’s development in the semiconductor field and followed by a second visit at the Centre for Advances in Reliability and Safety (CAiRS). CAiRS carries out on five research programmes, including Anomaly Detection and Syndromic Surveillances, Innovative Diagnostics for Health Management, Prognostics for Remaining Useful Life Assessment, Safety Assurance: Improve Functional Safety and Data Analytics Platform for Reliability. Prof Yung, Executive Director and Centre Director, emphasised that CAiRS focuses on inspection, detection and prediction. Mr. Zhang Lin, Deputy Secretary of Qingdao Municipal Government, pointed out that Qingdao is in need of this technology, so Prof Yung hopes that CAiRS can cooperate more with Qingdao and strengthen collaboration. The study group then tried out MobiPro autonomous shuttle developed by urban.systems Company Limited.
Albert, CEO of HKSTP, was able to meet with the study group during dinner to introduce the latest development of the HKSTP and collaboration opportunities with China. Peter, President of the HKQA, thanked the study group for coming to Hong Kong and hoped that all of them can enrich their horizons and be inspired. Last but not least, Mr. Li Jinguo hoped that Qingdao and Hong Kong will have more communication and cooperation.
