Completion and Handover of the North District Community Health Centre
The North District Community Health Centre (NDCHC) is one of the projects under the 10-year hospital development plan of the Hospital Authority. Its modernized facilities will greatly improve the public primary healthcare services to meet the changing healthcare demand in the North District arising from the growing and ageing population. Today (6/8), Chairman I K Wong and Rosana of Yau Lee Group are delighted to handover the completed NDCHC to the client. Rosana would like to express her special gratitude for the trust of the client, the support of the consultant team, and the dedicated efforts of the entire Yau Lee team including all subcontractors and workers. This united effort facilitated the entire project, from design, construction to handover, was completed with the highest quality and standard.

Rosana recalled that the project had faced numerous challenges during the nearly 4-year construction period, in particular when facing the covid-19 pandemic. Our team had to maintain a high degree of adaptability and flexibility to cope with the dynamic situation, for example, cancellation of the adoption of MiC and precast elements to cope with the government’s anti-pandemic measures and logistics arrangement. We further explored ways proactively to do better by using MiMEP which reduced installation time by two months, increased productivity by 30% as well as reduced construction waste by 80%. We also firstly adopted BEANiE to monitor the self-checking air leakage system to all air tight clinical rooms in order to ensure the high accuracy.

Rosana hopes that the NDCHC can enhance health and wellbeing of the residents in the North District after commencing operation.
