Awarded with “CIC Sustainable Finance Certificate Scheme – Green Loan”, our Transitional Housing Project at Po Lam Road North, TKO, which has been kicked-off last year, receives a green loan from the Bank of East Asia (BEA). This is another proof that our efforts in driving ESG and sustainable development for years have won supports from BEA and various stakeholders of our society.
Rosana, Executive Director of Yau Lee Group, thanks the BEA and Christian Family Service Centre (CFSC), the operation organisation of this project, for their support, and acknowledges the tremendous efforts made by our team to obtain the abovementioned certificate. To be completed in the second quarter of this year, this project will accommodate about 870 citizens in need in 385 units for 1-4 persons and 1 barrier-free unit. We will continue to adopt and strengthen innovative construction solutions such as demountable concrete MiC to accelerate the completion of transitional housing projects for relieving the pressure of families who are living in poor conditions while waiting a long time for public housing. According to our past experience, construction time and manpower of this project will be reduced by 40% and 60% respectively. Meanwhile, 45% of construction waste and 25% of air pollution will also be reduced when comparing with conventional construction methods.
Most significantly, both our Group and BEA are rooted in Hong Kong for many years and this green loan has marked an important milestone for local enterprises to support each other in advancing green finance and low-carbon economy. Rosana looks forward to future collaboration which will not only focus on green finance, but also energy and technologies incorporating with ESG elements, to create a better and more sustainable future.
