The Housing · I&T Summit, organized by the Housing Bureau and the Housing Authority, opened at the Sham Shui Po Leisure & Cultural Building today (4/11). Themed “Pioneering Innovative Housing for a Sustainable Future” , the summit consists of 6 different themes, including Smart Housing, Smart Innovation, Smart Community, Smart Living, Smart MiC Production and Smart Construction, bringing together experts and practitioners from over 15 countries and cities in the public housing sector to exchange ideas and discuss innovations and developments in housing construction technology.
 
The first day of the summit focused on Smart Housing and Smart Innovation and it was kicked off by the welcome remarks delivered by Secretary Winnie Ho. She shared the advantages of Hong Kong's "One Country, Two Systems" framework and the target of public housing supply in the next decade, as well as how to leverage construction and facility management technology. She also mentioned that Hong Kong will continue to play the roles of a 'super connector' and 'super value-adder' to foster cross-regional collaboration, building safer, more livable and quality homes for Hong Kong residents. Following her speech, 13 guest speakers from Hong Kong, Chinese mainland, the UK, Malaysia, France, Australia, and Singapore delivered presentations, shared insights and engaged in panel discussions.
 
Conrad and Rosana of Yau Lee Group also attended this morning to support Winnie, the Housing Bureau, and the Housing Authority. Rosana was so happy to return to the Sham Shui Po Leisure & Cultural Building, which was built by Yau Lee Construction Limited. She was also thankful for the unique insights shared by each speakers and impressed by the thoughtful arrangements made by the organizers to promote local culture and community, including serving local street food like pineapple buns as snacks and providing maps of nearby attractions for participants form different countries and cities to have a better understanding of Hong Kong.
