Annual Conference of the Asia-Oceania Particle Therapy Co-Operative Group
The 5th Annual Conference of the Asia-Oceania Particle Therapy Co-Operative Group (PTCOG-AO) is taking place from November 7 to 9 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). As the main contractor for the HKSH Proton Therapy Centre, Yau Lee Group is participating as an exhibitor.

The HKSH Proton Therapy Centre is Hong Kong’s first proton therapy facility, representing a significant milestone in the city’s cancer treatment landscape. Yau Lee Group is proud to take part in contributing to this unique, cutting-edge, and meaningful radiotherapy facility. This afternoon, Rosana from Yau Lee Group visited the booth, reflecting on the advanced and challenging experience of managing the project. The construction area was approximately 1,250 square meters, making it one of the smallest proton therapy centres in the world. The construction team had to build a 30-meter deep basement structure to accommodate the proton therapy system. With the support of a 5D full lifecycle management approach provided by Global Virtual Design and Construction Company Limited, the project was completed with high acclaim. The client even requested Yau Lee Construction to undertake additional tasks, including fitting-out works and constructing a steel footbridge to connect two blocks of the HKSH Eastern Medical Centre.

Rosana expresses gratitude to the Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital and the Lee family for their twenty years of preparation, which have brought precise and effective treatment options to more cancer patients.
