【Open Data Conference cum Hackathon Final 2022】
Hong Kong Technology Advancement Group (HKTag) and HKSTP, with the funding support from the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, co-organized “Open Data Hackathon” again this year. Aside from public stream and college stream, the organizer added a secondary school stream and all contestants may come up with innovative solutions for “Smart Property” by integrating data and technology applications to improve the quality of life.

Today, “Open Data Conference cum Hackathon Final 2022” has been held at HKSTP. Ms. Lillian Cheong, Under Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, was invited to deliver an Opening Speech. Incorporating open data with other innovative technologies has always been a priority for Yau Lee Group, which regards building a smart city as our vision. Ms. Rosana Wong, Executive Director of the Group, has thus been invited as a speaker to share her insight and experience about “Open Data Drives Smart Digital Construction”. From OpenBIM, BEANiE Blockchain-enabled Multifunctional Platform, BIMx for owners of the Group’s smart residential development, Green Smart Hotel 2.0, AI robotics, MobiPro, the very first MaaS (Mobility as a Service) autonomous shuttle in the HKSTP, and its NFT & Metaverse, all demonstrate the benefits of open data on smart and digital transformation on the construction industry. In additional, the most recent GVDC Training Centre is dedicated to cultivate talents by teaching AI Full Lifecycle Management and other BIM related courses.

At the same time, Mr. Benny Liu, Chief Technology Officer of GVDC, has also been invited to serve as a Final Judge. He was impressed by the contestants who are full of innovation and the winning proposals are very creative and practical. He hopes these proposals could further promote Hong Kong as a smarter city to provide a comfortable and convenient living environment for all of us.
