The Chief Executive, Mr. John Lee, presented the Bronze Bauhinia Star (BBS) to Chairman of Yau Lee Holdings Limited, Mr. I K Wong on the 2022 Honours and Awards Presentation Ceremony at Government House today. Mr. Wong is honored to be recognized by the CE and he will continuously motivate our Group to widely adopt such advanced technologies to facilitate construction productivity, sustainability, and safety in order to shorten construction time and increase the supply of housing in HK.

 

The following is the citation of Mr. Wong published by the HKSAR Government:

“Mr. I K Wong is awarded BBS in recognition of his notable contributions to the construction industry of HK. He has greatly contributed to the housing supply of HK by participating in the building of about 15% of the total public housing in the past decades, providing homes to over 500,000 people. A passionate pioneer in promoting advanced construction technologies, he has led HK to become one of the global leading forces in applying precast elements in building works.”

 

Over the past 72 years, Mr. Wong has devoted his time to the construction industry. He has guided the Group in implementing various industry-leading innovative technologies including Modular Integrated Construction (MiC), Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Multi-Trade Integrated Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (“MiMEP”), etc in the completion of Fire Services Department Pak Shing Kok Married Quarters, the very first MiC project in HK, the first demountable concrete MiC HK transitional housing as well as the conversion of community isolation and treatment facilities within a very short period of time.
